An Iterative Method for Solving Complex-Symmetric Systems Arising in Electrical Power Modeling

Bldg. 922, Room 137
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

We propose an iterative method for solving a complex-symmetric linear system arising in electric power networks. Our method extends Gremban, Miller and Zagha's support-tree preconditioner to handle complex weights and vastly different admittances. Our underlying iteration is a modification to BiCG to enhance accuracy. In this talk I'll describe our extensions to support-tree preconditioners and our modifications to BiCG and present some computational results.
