In this talk, I will present on-going research on energy efficient algorithms, programming models and communication runtime systems and study the characteristics with modern architectures. I will also talk about fault tolerant PGAS data store models with task-based execution models addressing multiple classes of faults. Performance results using NWChem, STOMP, Sweep3D with Global Arrays, MPI and ARMCI on interconnects such as Gemini, Seastar2, and InfiniBand will be presented. Additional Notes: Dr. Abhinav Vishnu is a research scientist in the High Performance Computing group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His research focus is designing scalable, energy efficient and fault tolerant programming models, communication runtime systems and high speed interconnects. Dr. Vishnu works on Global Arrays and ARMCI, high performance PGAS programming model and communication runtime systems used by applications in many science domains. Dr. Vishnu was a PhD student at The Ohio State University (2002-2007), where he received IBM PhD fellowship for his research on MVAPICH/MVAPICH2 - high performance MPI on InfiniBand used by more than 1500 organizations in 60 countries.
