[BANANA] UCB linear algebra seminar: Wed 14 Feb

Greetings!

Prof. B. Sturmfels (Math, UC Berkeley) will speak on "The Algebraic
Degree of Semi-Definite Programming" at the next meeting of the UCB
Linear Algebra Seminar, which is this Wednesday in 380 Soda Hall from
11:10am to noon.

A reminder:  the Seminar is in the course schedule, cross-listed under
Math 290 Section 3 and CS 298 Section 39 (Matrix Computations and
Scientific Computing).  The coordinator is Prof. B. N. Parlett
(parlett at math).  The program will be a mixture of research talks and
tutorials, and the latter will provide a partial sequel to Math 221.
