Greetings!

I sincerely apologize if my announcements haven't been getting
through to any of you -- Prof. Parlett has let me know that there
have been some problems related to the address from which I
was sending the annnouncements.  I hope that everything is
working now so that as many of you as possible can come to the
talks.  As I'm back in town now, I hope to see you this Wednesday
(11:10-noon, 380 Soda Hall) at the seminar!

November 1
Speaker: Dr. Chris Ding (LBNL)
Title: 2D SVD for 2D maps and images

             CS 298, Section 39,
       (Matrix Computations and Scientific Computing)

We meet WEDNESDAYS 11:10 - noon in Room 380 Soda Hall, Berkeley campus.
Coordinator is Prof. B.N.Parlett (parlett at math).
The program will be a mixture of research talks and tutorials.
The tutorials will provide a partial sequel to Math 221.
